FragranceX sells thousands of types of brand name perfumes and colognes.  They are writing a new wholesale website with shorter product descriptions.

Target Audience:
We are writing product descriptions for each type of perfume or cologne. These descriptions will help the reader to get a good idea of what scents are in the perfume.

Update 4/30/2019: Demeter fragrances have already been broken into one scent in their name. For these fragrances, including only 1 scent note is acceptable to the client. All other fragrances still require 3-4 scent notes.

Tone/Voice: Descriptive Keywords:

  • The Name (column D – 1st word) and Brand (column D – 2nd word) should be used only one time each in the product description.
    • Example: Duc De France/Parfums Duc De France – Writers may use “Duc De France” once AND writers may use “Parfums Duc De France” once.
    • In the instance that the perfume name and brand are the same (Gucci/Gucci), writers may use each of the keywords once.
  • Please spell perfume name EXACTLY as the client has it listed (fixing any that are in all caps) as the client does a CTRL + F function to make sure what he ordered is in the corresponding description. Some examples include:
    • Provided by the client – BVLGARI BLV
      • Please correct all caps and use – Bulgari Blv
    • Provided by client – Emergency(new)
      • Please use – Emergency (new)
    • FACONNABLE HOMME (New Packaging)
      • Please correct all caps and use – Faconnable Homme (New Packaging)
  • If the client wants to remove the items in parenthesis once he receives the order, that is up to them.

Research: On the off chance that a product seems to have the same name as one before or after it, Please note that there will be an M (cologne) and a W (perfume) following the identifying number (located in column E).  This means that though the names may be the same, there is a male or female version of the scent that the client would like to have a description written for. Clicking on the link located in column B helps make this more clear. Not every type of perfume or cologne has enough information available to write.  Therefore, we are relying on each writer to take several steps into the research process to see if there is enough information. These steps include:

  1. The client has provided correlating FragranceX URLs for each requested wholesale description. Please open this link to see if there is a good description available with at least 3 scent notes. If so, there is no need to look for the information again as BKA probably wrote this description.
  2. Open Perfume.com and type in the name of the perfume. If it is available, then you would have two descriptions (both written by BKA) for the same scent.  Please write an abbreviated description for the client’s wholesale website. The new, shorter description must be 100% unique and pass Copyscape.  This may be accomplished by changing the order of information as well as the wording.
  3. If there is not a description on FragranceX.com or Perfume.com, copy the name and search it on http://www.fragrantica.com/
  4. If there is not enough information there, search the name + maker + perfume/cologne + notes in Google
  5. Review the links to see if any have the necessary information, including at least 3 scent notes.  Please review the 1st and 2nd search results pages
  6. SHOULD there not be enough information, please select  “N/A” from the drop-down menu built into the title box on the Premium spreadsheet.  The spreadsheet should automatically change the payout from $2.00 to .20 to ensure that your research time is covered. Also – Open up the submit form in column F of the green header and submit all required information – Please put N/A in the product description, descriptive words AND year.

Format:

  • Wholesale descriptions do NOT need the URL.
  • Name/Brand, Code, Identifying number
  • Description – Should contain the most important part – about what makes the scent of this particular cologne/perfume. Each description needs a minimum of 3 scent notes. (Demeter fragrances may only contain 1 scent note. Please still write a description for these using 1 scent note. All other fragrances still require a minimum of 3 scent notes.) Do NOT put “product description” in this spot.  Instead, copy and paste the description YOU HAVE WRITTEN.
    • Scent notes are not generalities, such as floral or woodsy.  Instead, they are ingredients used in the perfume or cologne.
  • Please make SURE to mention the year the perfume was created/introduced (if the information is available).

Help:

  • If you can find the perfume on Fragrantica, look at the top – above the photo of the perfume. there should be a clickable link to the maker of the perfume!

Perfume One fabulous BKA writer has stumbled on a website that is very helpful with perfume descriptions!  Remember – all content must be unique and original, but feel free to use this website as a help!

Other writers have been able to add two more helpful websites for this type of research: “When I can’t find fragrance info on Fragrantica, I’ve been able to find information on top, middle, and base notes for some varieties on Walmart’s website. Also, http://www.basenotes.net/ and ttp://perfumesociety.org/ have proven to be helpful resources.” “This awesome website sometimes has perfume notes when no other sites do! https://www.parfumo.net.”
  • Saving: Completed content must be submitted through a simple form. Make SURE you are clicking on the correct submission form link.  Each batch on the Premium sheet will have its OWN submission link labeled 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 etc.  PLEASE make sure you are submitting to the link listed in the header, or you may be required to resubmit to the correct link later on.
    Submission Form:

    • Step 1 – Open up the Submission form (Located in the header bar, column F) and copy and paste the content in the respective fields. Every item MUST be submitted, even if there is no information available.
      • Fields Include:
        • URL provided by client (column C).
        • Name /Brand (Copied and pasted from Column D).

Launched in September 2014, Fleur Fatale is a heady, seductive scent fit for a night out under the stars—or with them. The captivating combination of black currant, violet, and bergamot gives this fragrance an exotic, sensual character all its own. At its center, it features delicate, efflorescent layers of peony, iris, and tea rose. Finally, the base culminates in white musk and sandalwood for a supple finish.

This is the 7th women’s fragrance created by designer Kim Kardashian since entering the world of perfume in 2009 with her signature scent. In addition to designing fragrances, she is also a model, socialite, shoe designer, fitness guru, and reality television star. The scent was conceived in collaboration with Claude Dir, the 2016 recipient of the American Society of Perfumers Lifetime Achievement Award. The bottle’s gracefully tiered white rose shape evokes the pop culture icon’s favorite flower and reflects her attention to detail.
