Uniek is the premier designer, manufacturer, and supplier of picture frames and home decor accents in North America.

You are categorizing products for SEO purposes, as well as writing short descriptions.

Step 1: Go to the submit form and find your art by Product Reference #.

Format:

Look at the image from the URL. Fill in the fields on the submit form that accurately represent the product image.

Master Subjects 1 & 2

  • In column E and F, select one category from the drop-down menu that the product falls into.
    • If there is not a 2nd Master subject that is okay.

Style

  • Select one decor style for the product. If it doesn’t seem to fit into any of the more specific styles, use “casual decorative” as the default.
    •
    • Bohemian – the art popularized in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Emphasis on trees, flowers, flowing fabrics and environmental concern. Bohemian art is typically at harmony with nature.
    • Casual – If your artwork does not fit into any of the above categories, please mark it “casual”
    • Contemporary Modern – the art of today, distinguished by lack of a uniform, organizing principle or ideology
    • Funky – Can be described as passionate, sensuous or quirky. Clearly derived from real sources, the subject is then made funky or quirky by the artist.
    • Glam –  art that celebrates all things beautiful, fabulous, superficial, shimmery and chic. The things represented in glam are usually inaccessible to the masses.
    • Global – Also referred to as World Art History. Contemporary and in spirit postcolonial; thus it is guided by the intention to replace the center and periphery scheme of a hegemonic modernity, and also claims freedom from the privilege of history
    • Industrial Urban – subject matter deals with contemporary urban culture, cities, city life, and political issues, often incorporating street art and graffiti
    • Museum Masters (Museum) – 19th-century art movement characterized by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, with an emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (Ex: reproductions of Monet’s work).
    • Rustic Shabby Chic distressed – has a pleasingly old and slightly worn appearance, sometimes distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique.
    • Traditional – Art with a conventional look and feel.
    • Zen – The Zen artist, tries to suggest by the simplest possible means the inherent nature of the aesthetic object. The artist must fully understand the inner nature of the aesthetic object, its Buddha nature.

Examples from the Client:

Keywords:
*Do not repeat the master subject(s) as a keyword! If it is listed as a keyword please delete it.

Current Keywords – The keywords that are currently listed with the artwork are listed in column G.
If there are no current keywords please add 2-10. Add words that someone might use to search for art.
(contemporary, modern, abstract, landscape, water, leaves, circles, shapes, flowers)

  • Please delete any of these that do not apply to the art.
  • In Column H, please list any additional keywords that do apply. Example: (antique truck, old barn, red, brown, peeling paint, country)
  • Imagine what words you might have used to come up with this painting in a Google search.

Watercolor/Photography

  • Put an “X” in the applicable column.

Description (30-50 words)

  • Write 1-3 sentences that describe the picture (colors, feelings, places, etc.), imagine you are describing the piece to someone wearing a blindfold. Instead of saying “There are circles and squares,” it makes more sense to say “The layered circles of blue, red and green create a focal point against the soft muted gray of the squares that line the background.” Create a scenario that sells the art.
    • Focus on the picture itself, NOT the style or the artist.
    • Focus on the actual elements and subject of the print.
    • DO NOT mention the frame. Do NOT mention the artist.
DO NOT say “perfect for the mantle above your fireplace,” or “this piece would make a statement in your foyer.” The client does not want any metion of potential locations for the art.

URLs

  • If the URL does not go to a page with a picture, and you cannot find a picture by searching for the title or ID#, Select “N/A” from the drop-down menu in column M of the Premium Sheet.
  • If your block contains multiple products that are virtually identical (like the floral pics below):
    • First Image:
      • Write a unique description copy.
      • Select “Done” from the drop-down menu on the Premium Sheet.
    • Subsequent Images:
      • Copy and paste all fields from the first image (including description) for all subsequent images.
      • Select “Reuse” from the drop-down menu in column M of the Premium Sheet. This adjusts the payout and word count columns accordingly.

  • Use the Submit Form link in Column F of the header to categorize content and submit the description on the Google Sheet
    • Use CTRL + F to quickly find the corresponding Product ID.
  • If there was no picture and you marked “N/A” on the Premium sheet, be sure to mark “N/A” in the description field on the Submit Form as well.
  • Next, save each description in a word document as the  Uniek-Title-Artist
    • Ex: Uniek – Siesta – Jane Goodman
    • Do not include any special characters in the saved file name.
  • Put Uniek-Product # in the subject line of the email and send to [email protected].

Please see the examples on the submission form.
