Valpak is a North American direct marketing company. Valpak provides print, mobile and online advertising solutions and coupons.

 

You will be writing Business Profile Pages (BPP) for companies that use Valpak’s services. These BPPs are published on Valpak.com.

It’s very important you visit the company’s website and learn about who they are (match the tone/voice of the company you are writing the BPP for.), what they do (services and products they offer), where they are located, and their service areas.

There are 9 features to each BPP:

  1. Page Title
  2. Meta Description
  3. H1
  4. H2
  5. Marketing Message
  6. About Us
  7. Services Offered or Menu (if a restaurant)
  8. Service Areas
  9. Alt Text for images

1. Page Title (less than 60 characters with spaces) – A page title, also known as title tag, is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. Page titles are displayed on search engine results pages (SERPs) as the clickable headline for a given result, and are important for usability, SEO, and social sharing. The title tag of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page’s content.

Format: Primary Keyword – Secondary Keyword | Company Name

2. Meta Description (135-160 characters with spaces) – The meta description is the 135-160 character snippet used to summarize a web page’s content. Search engines sometimes use these snippets in search results to let visitors know what a page is about before they click on it.

3. H1 – This is the text at the very top of the BPP. Use AP Title Case

Format: Business Name in Location

Example: O’Brien Garage Doors in Forth Worth, TX

4. H2 – This is the text that sits juts below the H1.  Use AP Title Case

Format: This is a short sentence of what the business does or offers.

Example: Garage Door Repairs & Installations

5. Marketing Message – Needs to be in first person (write like you are the company). This is the text that sits below the coupon section and needs to be 4-8 sentences (roughly 100 words). Should read like a web/landing page.

Be sure to talk about: the company’s services/products, their location (if any, mention any nearby landmarks), and end with a call to action.

6. About Us – 2 or 3 sentences that reads like an About Us page on a website.

Example: Family-owned and operated for over 30 years, we truly care about our customers and work hard to maintain their satisfaction and trust. We not only provide top quality products but also provide a full garage door service where we manage every phase of the job for you, including working with you on financing if needed and servicing all garage door warranties whether they’re ours or not.

7. Services Offered – 1 to 3 sentences that list the services the company offers.

Example: Garage Door Repair, Garage Door Installation, Garage Door Roller, Opener, Springs, Tune Ups.

Note: If it is a restaurant, please replace “Services Offered” with “Menu” and write 1 to 3 sentences on the restaurants menu.

Restaurant Example: Our menu consists of Peruvian recipe rotisserie chicken and half chickens, with side orders of fries, fresh salads, fried plantains and rice.

8. Service Areas- 1 to 3 sentences that talks about the areas the company serves.

Example: O’Brien Garage Door offers experienced garage door repair and installation services in the Fort Worth, Texas area. We also serve the surrounding communities of Haltom City, Eagle Mountain, Lake Worth, Forest Hill and Edgecliff Village.

Restaurant Example: Pollo Vermont Jr is located at 21620 Figueroa St. in Carson, CA serving up whole foods to the surrounding communities of Torrance, Lakewood, Long Beach and other California cities nearby.

9. Alt Text for images –  (Less than 125 characters with spaces) This is the short descriptive text that appears when you hover your mouse over the picture. It should describe what the picture. If there are no pictures on the Valpak link/URL provided, you do not  need to do this section.
