Hidden Treasure:

Body:

  • Save each content piece as the name of the client in the client line followed by the title. For example, “Houston Custom Carpets – How to Maximize Bathroom Space.docx”
  • Send your entire block to submit@bkacontent with “V Digital Services – Client Name” in the subject line.
    • Example: V Digital Services – California Smoke Shop

Partner Article:

Partner articles are written for specific industry partners. These could be hotels, restaurants or attractions. Typically, they are hotel partners. The purpose of these articles are to dig deep into the experience of visiting that hotel. It should talk about all areas of the hotel including hotel bars, restaurants, pool, spa. Look for “hidden gems” and call them out. Play up the details of the location and convey what it feels like.

Itinerary:

In an itinerary article we curate a guided timeline of activities and experiences somebody might have in a certain area of Miami. General  dos and don’ts for itinerary articles include:

  • Don’t make any drive longer than 20 minutes (if at all possible). This needs to be realistically something somebody would do within a real time frame.
  • Don’t mention things that are not worth the trip. We want people to actually use these itineraries and we don’t want to disappoint!
  • Do find “hidden gems” along the way. Maybe mention a little side trip a person can take to see something that is really special and can add richness to the experience.
  • Do talk about taking a Lyft if the itinerary involves drinking. We don’t want people drinking and driving, but we do want them to be able to have an incredible experience at all the cool places Miami has to offer.

Event:

Event articles are usually list types of articles that lightly touch on a variety of events related to a specific, time of year, holiday, special event series. event articles should still have engaging content about each event and as much information as is needed in regards to date and time, place, cost and what to expect. It should also be listed in chronological date order.

Event List Format:

  • Partners included in list should be closer to the top of the article.
  • Article should contain a short paragraph for each event mentioned.
  • Include experiential and Hidden Gems as possible

If the event article is about one singular event (e.g.: Miami Carnival), then it should be treated as you would a Partner article and go into more of a rich exposé on the event. You should have details, but the real meat of the article is about the experience and why somebody would love to go.

Experiential:

When writing an “experiential” article, the writing style/voice should be from a “story telling” perspective. When writing about a business (hotel, restaurant, club, museum, park, beach, etc.), what is the “experience” like? What makes the place special – why are we spending the time to write about it? Experiential writing is used to help “transport” the reader to a different place.  At its best it piques the readers’ interest to go through the same experience as the author.

Veza Sur, I Presume?

Veza Sur was an idea formed by Berny Silberwasser of Bogota Beer Company, Chris and Jeremy Cox of 10 Barrel Brewing Co., and master brewer Asbjorn Gerlach, all with the backing and experience of Anheuser-Busch. A few trips to Brazil later and Veza Sur was born. That’s why this place still has the feel of a Brazilian hostel with backpackers and jungle adventurers.

  • Per’La Coffee Porter: Combining medium and dark roasted South American coffee cold-infused with a hearty porter gives any day a delightful kick to the head.

Don’t be surprised if you wake up the next day in Brazil with a monkey on your head and a smile on your face.
  • Guava Sour: On really hot days, make sure to order this cool, unfiltered, sour brew with just the right amount fresh-guava sweetness.
  • Seasonal Michelada: Smooth beer, fresh lime juice, hot peppers, spices and bitter greens are just as great for getting the evening started as they are at finishing it.

Miami’s Hidden Gem Breweries

Imagine Miami. Swaying palm trees, gorgeous beaches and all-night parties at the hottest nightclubs are customary, but they aren’t the only thing the city has to offer. The city’s various breweries and taprooms offer all types of tastes and environments that range from casual fun to upscale sophistication. Check out these hidden gems in Miami to decide where to try your next local brew.

Abbey Brewing Co.

A mainstay in Miami, Abbey Brewing Co. opened its doors for the first time in 1995 and has done so every day since. The Abbey’s chill environment is the perfect blend of dive bar and trendy brewery. Pull a stool up to the bar, grab a booth or enjoy your drink while you play a round of darts with your friends. In addition to four house specialties based on full-bodied recipes, brewmaster Raymond Rigazaio serves hard-to-find guest drafts from around the world. An expansive selection of bottles and micro-distilled spirits round out the menu. You can find Abbey Brewing Co. at 1115 16th Street.

Veza Sur

A Latin-inspired brewery situated in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, Veza Sur is the brainchild of Jeremy and Chris Cox and Berny Silberwasser. Start your night with a tour of the working area before trying one of the IPAs or craft lagers for yourself. Veza Sur’s focus is on flavorful beers that pair well with the city’s heat. Traditionalists love the Per’la Coffee Porter, a recipe blended with roasted Brazilian coffee beans. Those who enjoy trendsetting beer cocktails can try a Shoot the Moon, a mix of guava sour, house-brewed Campari, fresh Florida citrus and mint. After ordering your drink, enjoy it on the brewery’s enormous, dog-friendly patio. Veza Sur is located at 55 NW 25th Street.

Bousa Brewing

Brewing the perfect beer is an artform, so it makes sense that Bousa Brewing is located in the Miami Modern District, one of most creative areas in the city. Bousa strives to create beer that truly tastes like Miami, which is why founders Enrique Garcia and Juan Pablo Vergara use locally sourced ingredients in their brews. Miami flavor is particularly evident in the Cherry Bomb. Part of the brewery’s rotational menu, the red ale starts sweet with cherries and lemon drops, but hints of red chilis and local serrano peppers mean it packs a punch. Stop in during happy hour for a quick drink or join a ping-pong tournament and stay all day. You’ll find Bousa Brewing at 7235 NE 4th Avenue.

Wakefield Brewing

By the time J. Wakefield Brewing was born in 2015, brewmaster John had already gained world-wide recognition for his unique craft beers. His brewery includes 3,000 square feet for creating the 15 custom taps that grace the 1,200-square-foot tap room. From Hops 4 Teacher, a citrus-flavored IPA, to Aren’t You a Peach, a sour saison ale created with fresh peaches from Masumoto Family Farm, there is something for all tastes on the menu. Enjoy your beer as you check out the full-length “Star Wars” murals, all created by local artists, or sit in the Empire-themed beer garden when the weather is too amazing to stay inside. Local food trucks make the brewery the perfect place for a casual dinner with friends, and private brewery tours are available with a reservation. Find J. Wakefield Brewing at 120 NW 24th Street.

Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co.

Weird is the name of the game at Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co. Offering 12 award-winning beers, this tap room is the perfect choice for people who like a little humor infused in their brews. From weekly trivia nights to discounted drinks for Mustache Monday (it counts if you draw it on!), there is always something to entertain you while you drink. A fan favorite is the P. Swayze, an American IPA that smells as amazing as it tastes, but you can’t skip the namesake ale. Lincoln’s Best Sparkling Ale combines modern brewing techniques with an old-fashioned recipe to create a crisp taste. Brewmaster and co-founder John Falco and the other self-proclaimed weirdos that run the place are just as entertaining as the drinks and themes at Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co. Check it out at 7360 SW 41st Street.

Take in the penny-drenched décor at Lincoln’s Beard. Relax in the laidback tap room at Abbey Brewing Co. No matter what your style, and whether you prefer traditional ales or trendy beer-based cocktails, you can’t leave the city without out the best breweries in Miami. Don’t forget to book a ride with Lyft so that you can truly experience everything these taprooms have to offer.
