Rogan Shoes, Inc. – Work Boots Descriptions

The main description can be the same, but the features must be complete. These shoes have distinct features like steel toe, composite toe, slip resistant, waterproof… all the shoe features must be listed. (see example 1)

Visit the vendor sites for selling point and a complete list of features.

• Vendor sites: Start with the manufacturer site and Workingperson.com 

Directions

Go to the manufacturer’s website (Puma, Adidas, Keds, Skechers, etc.) and search the Stock# (column F) or Shoe Name (column D) to find existing pictures/descriptions of these shoes. If it isn’t found on the manufacturer’s website, search the shoe type and stock number in Google. You should be able to easily find the shoe on a number of different websites.

• Sometimes the shoe name will NOT exactly match the stock #. In this case, write based on whatever the stock # shows online. 
• It’s OK if there is a slight variation in the stock # or the name of the shoe found online. Submit your description with the correct/new name and stock number you described in your content.
• Pay attention to the ID # found in column N. You will need this when saving and submitting each piece. The ID # is not related in any way to the stock #. (see saving instructions tab)

Duplicate Products

If you have duplicate products, write a unique description for each and put the ID # (column N) at the end of the file name when saving. This happens when you have the same shoe with varying colors. You need to write a unique description for each color/variation of the shoe. (Example of one shoe with multiple variations pictured below.)

N/A Products

If you cannot find a product that closely matches the name or the stock#, please select “N/A” in the title column on the Ecommerce sheet. Otherwise, once you complete the description, select “Done” in the title column. You MUST select “Done” to get paid. Use the drop-down menu provided for the title column. 

• For N/A products, do not email a blank Word document to the Submit box. 
• The client is still charged for N/A products, so we verify that the product is really N/A before we send it to the client. Ensure you have done your due diligence before you select N/A. If we are able to find the shoe, you will be asked to write the description.

Tone/Voice:

Conversational. Product descriptions should be written such that the customers feel they need the item. The description should be “sexy” and needs to capture the customer’s attention in the first sentence.

Format:

• Product Name (Column D)
• Paragraph
• Bullet Points (include stock #)(include as many bullet points as necessary to cover all the distinct features)

• Save each description as the Product Name (column D) followed by the ID Number (column N)
  • Example: “Kids Nike Air Max-123” (Make sure to use a hyphen, not a dash.)
  • DO NOT use the stock # when saving.
  • You can correct for any misspellings in the title when saving; however, do not use dashes, commas or apostrophes in the file name. (Doing so prevents the file from being zipped.)
• Select “DONE” or “N/A” from the drop-down menu in the Title column (column M) when you’ve completed your product descriptions.
• DO NOT submit empty Word documents for N/A descriptions. Send only what you have marked as “DONE” in the title column.
• Put “Rogan Shoes” in the subject line of the email and send to [email protected].
• Attach and submit all of your files in one email.
