Go Visit Costa Rica is a popular travel website for Costa Rica. Their goal is to give fellow travel-lovers an insider’s look on the best places to stay while exploring Costa Rica, and allow the user to plan and book their hotel through this easy-to-use website.
- These rewrites are a little different than the typical page rewrite — we will be using specific portions of the URL to recreate pages for the Go Visit Costa Rica site. Our purpose is to:
- Double-check the facts and make the Go Visit Costa Rica site more accurate
- Create enticing content that encourages customers to book their hotel stay through Go Visit Costa Rica’s website.
These are not difficult, but we’ve upped the pay to compensate you for the project-specific steps you’ll take to get these spot-on for the client.
Target Audience:
Users of the Go Visit Costa Rica site, who are searching for great hotels and resorts in Costa Rica.
Tone/Voice:
Conversational and exciting — we want the customer to want to stay in the hotels we feature.
- Please DO NOT write in 1st person, as we are simply referring the client to the hotel we’re recommending.
How to Write these Hotel Pages:
- Using the hotel’s main page (found in column C), you will be gathering and rewriting information about the following three topics:
- Details about the hotel
- Information about rooms offered
- Specific activities or tours offered through the hotel
- If needed, use the additional resource found in Column F to supplement any section
- Please note the following:
- Double check any spellings of proper nouns. Do a quick Google search using the term and “Costa Rica” to make sure you have all the correct accent marks, etc.
- Please use accent marks where appropriate:
- San José
- Escazú
- Río (for any river)
- Jacó
- Please use accent marks where appropriate:
- Be careful when speaking about how long it takes to get somewhere from the hotel. Use only generalized times when describing how far away the hotel is from a particular activity or location — Roads in Costa Rica are very different from in the U.S., and this often increases travel time.
- Use this resource to double check travel times: https://www.govisitcostarica.com/travelInfo/travelTime.asp
- Double check any spellings of proper nouns. Do a quick Google search using the term and “Costa Rica” to make sure you have all the correct accent marks, etc.
Article Format:
GVCR URL (hover over Column D to find this)
- NOTE — The GVCR url is NOT to be used as a resource in content creation, except for the activities section. This is solely for the use of the client.
Meta Description (up to 320 characters, including spaces)
H1 (found in Column D) — Ex. JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort and Spa
- Rewrite general content about hotel — location, amenities, style, etc.
- This section should be 350-400 words.
- Your job is to paint a picture of the hotel in an enticing, exciting way. Talk about elements such as location, amenities, hotel mission, landscape, restaurants, etc.
- Please do not mention details about cost, check-in time, etc.
H2 – Rooms
- Some hotels have only one type of room – if so, please keep this paragraph at least 150-200 words.
- If there are multiple types of rooms, the paragraphs can be smaller, as long as the informational is comprehensive and well-written.
- Due to the need for flexibility with numbers of room types, there is no specific word count designated. We will simply add up the words after the whole thing is written to determine the payout for this page.
- Please bold the headers for each room type.
- Write this in a bulleted format.
- Do NOT include price of rooms.
H2 – Activities
- If needed, you may use the GVCR URL (hover over column D) to find activities that this hotel offers. Please format this section to include a bolded header and a short but complete description of each item, as follows:
Title of Activity — Write an engaging, descriptive sentence or two to explain what the activity is in such a way that people will want to try it for themselves.
**After you have written the full page, please go back and add up the wordcount for all of the rewritten content (please do not include title or meta.) Then, please select the correct wordcount (calculated to the nearest 25 words) from the dropdown menu in Column S before you send your article to the submit box.
- Please save each document as “Title of Hotel – Go Visit Costa Rica – Hotel”
- Send to the submit box at [email protected]

Meta description: Book a unique rainforest experience when you travel to Costa Rica with the help of the Lapa Ríos Eco Lodge. It features open-air bungalows and a lodge that are tucked into a 1,000-acre private reserve in the southern rainforest near Corcovado National Park. Your family will never forget this special vacation.
Lapa Ríos Eco Lodge
Nature and nurture converge at Lapa Ríos Eco Lodge, a place where you can spend the morning exploring the rainforest and the afternoon on the beach, or vice versa as the mood suits you. Located on the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica near Corcovado National Park, Lapa Ríos sits at the spot where the Golfo Dulce joins the Pacific Ocean. It offers both jungle/ocean adventures and idyllic retreat.
Positioned on a private rainforest reserve that stretches to 1,000 acres, the lodge sits 350 feet above ocean level, giving guests spectacular views from every angle as they look down into the forest and out to sea. Lapa Ríos hosts 17 private bungalows, which lie along three forest ridges. In harmony with its surroundings, the lodge uses materials harvested from the land. You’ll see a variety of wood (using only dead trees, no live ones), reeds and fronds for thatching.
The lodge is not solely a luxury getaway; it is part of an ecotourism project aimed at conserving its little corner of the rainforest and proving that tourism can be a viable alternative to logging and deforestation. Lapa Ríos Eco Lodge has earned the highest rating from the country’s tourism bureau for the many ways it promotes, as well as practices, sustainability.
Families, honeymooners and other travelers can enjoy a wealth of activities here. The reserve is home to stunning waterfalls and three pristine beaches, where you can enjoy surf lessons, ride horseback on the beach and learn to kayak in quieter waters. The rainforest is home to four monkey species and plenty of exotic birds, such as toucans and macaws, as well as tree frogs and a variety of additional creatures that number in the thousands. Endangered animals, including jaguars, pumas and scarlet macaws, also call this area home.
Lapa Ríos guests can enjoy a dip in the lodge’s salt-based pool, relax and stretch with massages and yoga, and enjoy meals in the on-site restaurant. Included in your stay are your choice of a variety of on-site, guided walks for all activity levels and ages; participants may see a variety of wildlife and learn about the rainforest and its inhabitants on these excursions. The lodge provides walking sticks, binoculars, rubber boots and water bottles for all. Don’t miss happy-hour presentations from guides who recap the day’s fun and are available to answer questions.
Rooms
Let the distant sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep each night in one of 17 luxury bungalows that make up the guest quarters at Lapa Ríos Eco Lodge. Open-air rooms are all equipped with magnificent ocean views and ceiling fans; however, there is no air-conditioning, which detracts from the nature experience.
There are three baths to enjoy at each bungalow. One is outdoors and two are inside. Indoor showers offer you the choice of a cool, waterfall-like water stream or a more conventional shower with solar-heated hot water. Roomy and bright, each bathroom features a screened bay window for a unique spot to sit and view the rainforest.
Bungalows are screened to allow the sounds and smells of the forest and ocean in, and you’ll awaken every morning to the cries of howler monkeys and a fresh thermos of hot coffee ready and waiting just outside your door.
As you make your way to the lodge, rainforest animals will remind you what a special place this is and bring a smile to your lips as you face the day. Refuel at the breakfast buffet and consider the day’s agenda. If you need access to the Internet, there is a small area near the main lodge with Wi-Fi capabilities.
