This style of fire retardant canvas tarps is most useful for covering materials and supplies such as wood and mechanical parts. For other uses such as tents, indoor room dividers, and trailering applications, it’s best to choose different tarps designed for those specific applications.  Flame retardant tarps are available in several different fabric weights or grades. Lightweight options generally use a lower weight fabric of about 16 oz. per square yard. For heavy-duty or industrial applications, there are more rugged tarps that use a heavier grade of 22 oz. per square yard.
