PureModern.com sells contemporary furniture. We are writing new product descriptions for their products.They care a lot about their brand, tone and voice, so make sure to read the style guide section of this training.

Target Audience:
Ideal Client: Designer (example)
Katie is a 35 year-old woman living in San Francisco, CA. She is married with two children,
but loves her job as an interior designer and the clients with whom she works. She enjoys
going to art galleries and eating at local establishments. Her designs are often inspired by
nature and industry alike. She often prides herself in finding inspiration in unlikely places.
She reads Interior Designer while sipping a glass of wine in the evening. She believes in
quality over quantity. She is has a steady personality, but can also be spontaneous. She is
caring, creative, and motivated.

Ideal Client: Landscape Architect (example)
Brad is 40 year-old man living in Houston, TX. He is single and enjoys the urban food scene
in Houston. He is organized and creative. Brad is a coffee drinker in the morning and a beer
drinker in the evening. He likes clean lines and his designs are practical as well as
aesthetically pleasing. He reads LAM for inspiration and also to keep up on the latest
research and products. He cares as much about staying under budget as he does creating
a beautiful landscape. He is competitive and direct.

 

Brand: Focus
PureModern’s focus is modernism and mid-century modern for B2B (with the main focus on
planters) and providing superior, helpful customer service. All marketing material and
communication should highlight these two focuses.

Tone/Voice:
Use Informal Business writing style.
The written voice for PureModern is professional and inspired.
The voice should appeal to B2B clients (see ideal client in Background section for reference).
Balance logic and creativity in each written piece.
PureModern is one word, not two.
Utilize Oxford comma, but also uses contractions.
Write mostly in active voice.
