For this project we will be developing landing pages for CVS Pharmacies, a national brand of health and drug stores based in Rhode Island.

  • Landing pages are usually the first interaction a company has with its customers. The content should contain specific information that positions the company as experts in the industry. Consumers can see right through fluffy content with no substance and will likely judge a company based on its copy.  Take the time to research the company and its services before starting to write so we can represent those companies effectively.
  • The client wants the content to be localized, so the pages must contain specific geographical content for the city.

Keywords:

  • Use each keyword at least once, if applicable
    • Double check whether or not services given as keywords (drug store, cosmetics, passport photos, walk-in clinic) are offered at each individual location.
    • Do not include “(if applicable)” as part of the keywords.
  • MinuteClinic® cannot be pluralized. Use “multiple MinuteClinic® locations”.

Keywords and Phrases to AVOID:

  • NEVER use CVS alone. Always use CVS Pharmacy™.
  • Do not use the phrase “General Merchandising Needs”. Try to use more conversational and engaging words and phrases.
  • Do not use the phrase “Log On”. Always use “Sign In”.

Items for ALL Articles:

  • Include each store’s phone number
  • Phone number format – needs to exist either with parenthesis or with dashes.
  • Title – needs to always include “CVS Pharmacy & Drug Store at…”
  • Instead of using terms like “We” or “Us”, change to include specific type of store e.g. pharmacy. Example: “Our pharmacy is in your neighborhood”
  • Include the following references within each page:
    • transferring prescriptions through our mobile app
    • managing automatic refills
    • personal CVS.com account
    • ExtraCare® rewards
    • photo printing, custom prints
  • Include a link to our homepage using the anchor text CVS Pharmacy™
  • Include a link to the pharmacy page using the anchor text “pharmacy”

Format:

The client is looking for localized content. Pharmacy locations.

  • Please talk about the city and refer to the existing website for ideas.
    • Also please talk about the neighborhood, cross streets, landmarks, etc. This custom content is what is most important.
  • Write in first person, as if you were the company.
  • Break up the content with bullet points and headers in order for it to flow better and make sense.
  • End the page with a “Call to Action” that instructs the reader to contact the company and summarizes the information.
  • All subheads should be sentence case.
  • No serial commas unless grammatically incorrect without.

  • Here is a sample format for the pages. The number of H2 headers depend on the length of the page. A shorter landing page may only require two H2s and a longer page more.
    1. URL
    2. Page Name
    3. Text
    4. H2
    5. Text and bullet list
    6.  H2
    7. Text
    8. H2
    9. Call to Action

  • Save the pages as the company name found in the Green Bar on the spreadsheet followed by the Page Name.   i.e.“Rio SEO CVS – CVS Pharmacy and Drug Store in New York” Don’t use an ampersand (&) in the saved name.
    • ALWAYS start titles with: CVS Pharmacy (& Drug Store…) to match the page name.
    • Please ensure that your document titles do not include any of the following symbols, as these will prevent them from being zipped:
      • Apostrophes [‘], Quotation Marks [“], Long (Em/En) Dashes [–], Parentheses [()], All Rights Reserved [®], etc.
  • They want 500 word hyperlocal content pieces.
    • (60% localized content, 40% about the complex itself)
