Proper terminology/capitalization for degrees:

*Note – use the term “bachelor” and “master” and “doctorate” interchangeably in these examples

Always capitalize formal names of specific degrees.

Master of Degree Name in Program Focus = Master of Arts in Economics
Master of Degree Name = Master of Arts
Master in Program Focus = Master in Economics
Master’s in Program Focus = Master’s in Economics

Yes: Associate of Science in Microbiology
Yes: Bachelor of Arts in French Literature
Yes: Ph.D. in Economics

Generic references to degrees are lowercased. Use an apostrophe with bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, but not with associate degree or doctoral degree.

Yes: A master’s degree in modern languages (no capitalization of program focus)
No: A Master’s Degree in Modern Languages / A master’s degree in Modern Languages
No: A Master Degree in Modern Languages – Should be “master’s” in this case because of the word “degree.”

No: Doctorate Degree in Engineering / Doctoral Degree in Engineering
No: Associate’s Degree in Theology / Associate Degree in Theology

Generally, “course” “diploma,” and “certificate” should not be capitalized.

            –  No: A Course in Professional Accounting
            –  No: A course in Professional Accounting

  • Copy and paste the Keyword question (column D) for the Title on the spreadsheet (column M)

What is an A Level?

What is an A-Level? A-Levels are tests that may qualify students for further university education. They are typically taken after Year 13 of secondary education. Students wishing to pursue these examinations must study the subject areas they are pursuing for one or two years in preparation.  A-Levels are subject-based requirements that can be a prerequisite to a further course of study, facilitate entrance to a university, fulfill training requirements, or requirements for a job.

What are the benefits of taking an A-Level?

A-Level courses frequently help students gain a more complete understanding of selected subjects. Why is an A-Level important? Scores from these tests help students to narrow their field of study and move on to higher education opportunities. A-Level education can also help students to find employment after school, giving them a leg-up over students who have earned only their O-levels.

What kind of career can you expect with an A-Level?

Students who have earned A-Levels could move on to nearly any career, but most move on to university education. Since A-Levels prepare students to learn at a higher plane, students who take them seriously are much better prepared for post-secondary education. A-Level students will often have some focus on a foreign language, which makes them more attractive to hiring managers and university admissions officers.

When to get an A-Level?

An A-Level course can be taken as students near the end of their secondary education. How many years is an A-Level? Studies may take one to two years. For some students, passing marks in 5 or more GSCE exams are required before pursuing an A-Level course.  Education typically takes two years, although some students may study for only one.  It’s best to check with the school in which you’re interested to find out more about their expectations.

Where to take an A-Level?

A-Level education can be pursued on a part-time or full-time basis from a variety of schools. For busy individuals with other priorities, online education can be a fantastic way to study for these tests without having to rearrange your schedule.

How much does it cost to take an A-Level?

Tuition and fees vary depending on the location and medium of education selected, However, there are many A-Level programs available.
